We are the bridge between community partners and Adams County. Our goals are to offer better community support through the equitable distribution of grants and other resources, to build a portfolio of deep relationships and community partners, and to engage in neighborhoods more closely. We collaborate with partners to develop processes that support their needs, foster ongoing engagement with programming and organizations in the community, and remain a reliable place where anyone can turn when challenges arise and resources are needed.

Adams County is the second-fastest growing county in the Denver region with more than 520,000 residents. Unfortunately, the County’s resources to provide essential services have not kept up with demand. One area where this pressure exists is with the county’s detention center, a facility that is over 40 years old, is well past its intended lifecycle, and has significant deficiencies due to the years in service, changing operations and judicial requirements, as well as numerous expansions to address the growing population of Adams County.

Despite a long record of responsible budget management and good fiscal stewardship, current revenues and fiscal demands – coupled with anticipated continued demand on the existing facility – will make it challenging for the county to continue meeting the needs at this site.

We hold ourselves accountable to empower marginalized communities in order to eliminate disparities for all residents, affording them the opportunity to thrive in Adams County. We recognize the historical role government has played in perpetuating systemic racism and creating barriers to success. However, we also accept the responsibility that government has in creating positive, real, and lasting change in our communities. Thus, we lead with a social equity and justice lens to elevate people, improve systems, and strengthen neighborhoods.
